TARMARINE 450

MARINE ENGINE OIL

Product Description:

TarMarine 450 is a premium grade crankcase lubrication oil designed for medium-speed marine & industrial diesel engines running on residual fuels. It utilises highly refined base oils together with a high-tech additive package to deliver strong detergency, oxidation resistance, and outstanding protection under heavy thermal load. Engineered to serve in demanding maritime and stationary power applications, TarMarine 450 is optimized for engines requiring robust protection, low oil consumption, and reliable performance over long service intervals.

Applications:
TarMarine 450 is developed for use in a wide range of medium-speed marine propulsion and auxiliary engines that operate on residual heavy fuel oils, even in cases where sulphur content is higher than 3%. It is particularly well suited to modern, high-output and dual-fuel engine designs, where lubricants must maintain base number, viscosity stability, and deposit control under continuous heavy stress. Thanks to its formulation, it performs reliably in engines with low oil consumption, making it ideal for units where top-up opportunities are limited. TarMarine 450 also meets the requirements of marine power-generation installations that typically run at consistently high load factors, ensuring dependable operation, cleaner components, and longer service life across a variety of demanding operating environments.

NOTE: Due to its high base number, this oil has a high ash content. To avoid excessive ash deposits, do not use with low sulphur fuels or engines with high oil consumption.

Benefits:

  • Extends oil life by resisting oxidation and maintaining BN to minimize oil sweetening
  • Keeps pistons, valve decks, and crankcases clean and free from deposits
  • Supports efficient operation by aiding contaminant and water removal through separators
  • Protects key components from wear and corrosion

Please check your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s recommended oil viscosity grade and API classification and approvals.
